We provide professional Building Surveying & Certification services to the property, development, construction and infrastructure sectors with involvement in some of the largest construction projects in Australia.

The Role

A great opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Cadet / Student Building Regulations Consultant to join our friendly office in Melbourne. We are seeking an ambitious and committed individual who is able to represent the firm and deliver efficient and effective consulting services. You must be a highly motivated building degree student (preferably 2nd or 3rd year) and available to work at least 3 days per week.

You must be a highly motivated building degree student or graduate. You are self-motivated and professional in your work ethic. You have a proactive attitude, and attention to detail when it comes to not just the office presentation but also any task that you are working on. Most importantly, you are focused and dedicated to the success of any given task. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Building Consultancy firm who value their staff and encourage a friendly working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Mentoring and training will be provided and the main duties will include:

  • Assist the Building Certification Team and staff as required
  • Use and manage in house software
  • Prepare statutory paperwork for building approvals
  • Assist with Building Inspection Coordination
  • Follow up client calls and e-mails in a timely and professional manner
  • Other administrative duties as directed

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Enjoy solving problems and the ability to learn quickly
  • Professional presentation and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a busy team
  • Displays initiative and a proactive approach
  • Professional conduct and a mature approach to all situations including the ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality
